FIRST TIME DROP OFF ?

We will go through your items with you the first time you drop off to show you roughly how we decide what to sell for you and what not to bring for next time.

​

Your items will still go through the pricing process  approx one week later, if at that time we find and damage or stains, smell or if it is not a current style or season we may still donate it at that time. 

​

Being our 36th year in business we are recieving more and more each year which is why with our limited space we do need to be very particular on what we will accept and what will go to donation

New Consignment Guideline

Hi PIAV Family! 

We’d like to inform you of  updated policies regarding how to drop off, what brands we take/don’t take and pricing/donating processes

Give us a call before coming in to confirm we are taking in items or having to pause drop-offs when we occasionally hit capacity

Drop off days are TUESDAY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAYS between 11AM and 6 PM

Items will be priced and processed approximately 2 to 14 business days after drop off

 

Any items that do not meet the following requirements will be donated:

  • In season (unless special item)  

  • Styles and brands that sell well for our community and targeted audience (we take certain 

  • Current styles, “everyday” brands, selected vintage pieces, luxury brands)

  • Well-conditioned and recently-laundered

  • **See below our list of brands we won’t be accepting a lot of: 

 

Joe Fresh, Ricki’s, Reitmans, Old Navy, George, Seductions, Shein, Ardene, Cupshe, G21,, Suzy Shier, Lily Morgan, Fashion Nova, Gap, H&M, Zara, Primark, American Eagle, Forever 21, Jessica, Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Garage, Streetwear Society

 

Items we do not accept

 

Pajamas (unless for Christmas new with tags)

Undergarments and socks (even new with tags)

Basic wear tank tops, camisoles, tees (we will accept high quality and certain brand names)

Athleisure wear (with exceptions of Nike, Lululemon, Gym Shark, Lole, Aerie etc.)

 

IMPORTANT: 

Evening gowns will be donated if not sold within its given time period. We start with 6 months and sometimes extend the date depending on the season and style of dress. If you wish to pick up an unsold and expired item, it will be your responsibility to come in the store or call in to collect your item(s) by finding them in our organized racks. $5-$10 fees are charged for early pick-ups.                

  NOTE Due to excessive drop-offs 

  We will no longer be examining your items upon arrival.

  Instead, our pricing manager will go through your items during the pricing process which saves us      both a lot of time.

 

 Any items that do not meet the following requirements will be donated to the Bethesda House. They   sell our donations in their local store, and 100% of the proceeds go to supporting abused women in   their shelter

Bridal, Prom, Graduation & Formal wear

  • Bridal and evening wear will remain for sale in the store for approximately 6 months.
  • Once the item is sold, you collect 50% of its final selling price.
  • If your item does not sell after this period, we will either donate, discount the item or call you to pick it up.
  • We also offer cleaning services for your dress (excluding Silk gowns). Prices vary so bring it in & we will give a quote in person.

  • Other items we accept to consign:

  •  We prefer good brand names and or Designer 

  •  Casual tops and pants/jeans, Dressy Tops and pants 

  •  Purses, Shoes, Active wear, Jewelry, Dresses  

  •  

We begin to discount items once they have been in the shop for half of the total allotted time.

Once the item is sold you collect 40% of the final selling price.

Items that do not sell will be donated to a charity of our choice 

We reserve the right to donate any item before its expiration date if a flaw is found during processing (ex. stains or tears).

We reserve the right to donate any item before its expiration date if it's not being tried on.

We are not responsible for any damaged, lost or stolen items.

High-end items we price over $250.00 (purses, jewelry, shoes etc.), you collect 50% of the selling price once sold! SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS

GUIDELINE FOR DROPPING OFF LUXURY ITEMS  

(OVER $250 value)

 

 Please inform the staff when you drop off more expensive or designer Items 

   Let them know the retail price of the item(‘s)

   It's best to have a receipt or proof for these items

 If there's no proof of authentication we then have to price it fairly and accordingly 

          We would then discuss our selling price.  If the pricing  we may have to call you to follow 

   up  to discuss with you the selling price and your share (approx. 50%)

   Items preferably purchased within the last 2 years, or sellable vintage pieces  

  We do have security cameras and security tags on all items

  We do our very best to keep watch but we are not responsible

    for stolen, lost or damaged items as stated on your signed contract

Welcome to Play It Again Val!

Consignment allows you to recycle quality items, earn cash, or donate unsold items to meaningful charities.

​

Items We Accept: Current, in-season, excellent-condition items including: bridal gowns & accessories, formal/prom/grad dresses, casual clothing, quality shoes, coats, boots, jackets, suits, belts, handbags & jewelry. Some Vintage

 

Seasonal Intake: Spring: Jan–Mar | Summer: Apr–Jul | Fall: Aug–Oct | Winter: Oct–Jan Drop-Off Hours: Tue–Thu, 11AM–6PM

Capacity pauses may occur—please call or check social media.

Pricing & Selling Period: Items priced at 30–80% of retail per staff discretion. • Casual: In-store for current season or up to 2 months. •

 

Formal/Bridal/designer priced at $150.00 and up: 6 months or longer if still sellable.

Items not meeting guidelines may be donated.

 

Unsold items donated to partnered charities (e.g., Bethesda House).

 

Discount Schedule: Discounts begin halfway through display time: • Casual: From 1 month (varies by brand). • Formal/Bridal: From 3 months. Typical reductions: 15% → 30% → 50% → up to 80% before donation.

 

Returning Items to you Before Expiry: If you want items returned: • Track your own expiry dates and check 1 week prior. • Locate your item in store and bring to front desk.

 

• High-value items ($200+) & wedding gowns: we will contact you. Commission & Early-Reclaim Fees: Casual Items (<$200, not bridal/formal): • Commission: 40% of final sale price

• Early reclaim (before 2 months): $5/item

 

Bridal, Evening Wear, or $150+ Items: • Commission: 50%

 

• Early reclaim (before 6 months): $10–$50/item

 

Account Management & Payouts: Consignors must check their own accounts by phone or in-person.

Payouts: cash | e-transfer ($3.50 fee) | apply toward purchase.

 

Dormant/unclaimed payouts are forfeited after 1 year unless previously requested.

 

Liability: Play It Again Val is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. Security tags and in-store cameras are used for protection. Stay Connected! Check social media for drop-off pauses, new arrivals, & promotions! @piavconsignment
